Earth Date: 2014, 10 July
It has been a while since I have been able to write due to technical difficulties with the
Whittier email address I was using (the school would not allow me to share photos via google plus, which is what this website, blogger, uses to share and upload pictures). Now all of the problems are solved because I created a new account (SassyPandaMartin@gmail.com) which allows me all the freedom I need to share and upload pictures to my heart's desire onto the vast inter webs.
Here is an abbreviated version of some highlights thus far:
1. Camping in redwood Forest in Del Notre/Crescent City
-CAMPSITE 094 IS ONE OF THE BEST SITES IN MILL CREEK CAMPGROUND IN DEL NORTE NATIONAL REDWOOD FORREST!
-much seclusion. Privacy. cannot hear or see neighboring campers.

2. Ashland, Oregon
-Game wars! Battled the boys with games of Catan, Acquire, and, of course, Mario Kart. Wins and losses on all sides. All the shit-talking happened. and all the gauntlets were thrown.
The standings so far (counted in sweet victories, only)
Captain Amanda: 1 win Acquire, 1 win Mario Kart
First Officer Damien: 2 Catan wins, 1 Acquire win, 1 Mario Kart win
Lieutenant Zach: 4 Mario Kart wins
Acquire: a game in which you build companies and buy stocks in companies, but in order to win, you must build companies with with intention of having them be absorbed into another company (this is the only way you can earn money and sell stocks in that company). The one at the end with the most money is the winner, and consequently the one who mastered the art of starting companies, with the sole goal of having it fail and sell out to a larger company. #capitalism #economics #insidertrading #gameofassholes
-A Wrinkle in Time at the Ashland Shakespeare Festival
"a waste of time," puns Damien.
"a massive disappointment," exclaims Amanda.
"You guys always take me to the weirdest plays..." observes Zach.
So, we should have seen Shakespeare at the Shakespeare festival. Kinda a no brainer, but Zachary, when I sent him the list and synopsis of all the plays that were occurring while we were in town, selected A Wrinkle in Time because it was a book he enjoyed and seemed interesting since it was about time travel. Damien concurred, although neither he nor I had read the book.
On the brighter side, there were times during the play that we all wanted to laugh at loud (at a very serious moment, where the actors are proclaiming that the "thing" that makes Meg different than that evil, "it" is love. They then proceeded to chant, "love" several times while Meg defeated the "it" and brought her brother back simply by screaming that she loved him. all the cheese.)
-fine dining at The BlackSheep English Restaurant
#delicious #British #VegetablePasty #lambstew #yellowvegetablecurry
-Lithia Park in Ashland.
People strolling. children playing in the stream and on the jungle gym. Damien taking picture. man playing the Cello.
That's all for now. I will con tune these efforts to catch up to the present in a supplemental entry tonight.
Panda, out.
Ahhh games night! I miss these. Can't wait to have these when you guys come for another visit (or we make our first visit if Lotto comes through).
